Full Gemini Moon – MANY FACED

The December full moon falls in Gemini (December 12th, 5:12 GMT) but with Mars sitting in Scorpio on the ascendent this likely won’t feel like that chatty sociable energy we might expect.

Gemini is the sign of local communities, neighbours, siblings, the daily to-and-fro interactions of life. There is change coming in these areas. And this full moon is highlighting (or, down deepening?) these changes.

Gemini also has the (sometimes earned) reputation for deception/ two-facedness, or downright deception – think 7 of swords in tarot. But the ability to change faces, to change minds, thought patterns, ways of doing things is not necessarily evil, or even a character flaw. Perhaps it is a strength?

For UK peeps, this is also election day. An interesting choice of date.

“I may be wrong in regard to any or all of them; but holding it a sound maxim, that it is better to be only sometimes right, than at all times wrong, so soon as I discover my opinions to be erroneous, I shall be ready to renounce them.”
― Abraham Lincoln

First Quarter Moon in Pisces – A CHINK IN THE ARMOUR

The first quarter moon in Pisces (December 4th, 6:58 GMT) finds itself conjunct dreamy Neptune and sextile the pile up of planets in Capricorn. Perhaps one last window of daydreaming is possible before the next round (year) of hard work begins.

If it is possible for you to take some time out of the crazy season and turn your attention inward. To breathe. To doodle. To do what lifts your heart and reveals the great truth that we are all connected. Do that.

Sagittarius New Moon – Stretch

The Sagittarius New Moon falls on November 26th (15:05 GMT). A new cycle is beginning, and it is a cycle that promotes growth and expansion. Mercury is direct, cohabiting with, a, comfortable in Scorpio, Mars. Jupiter is alongside the sun and moon, revelling in Sagittarius. Projects that are started now have a very good chance of success.

Things just feel easier now. You can work harder without getting as tired. Results come more quickly. People in authority, or who have influence, will notice your efforts. Time to put those grand plans into action. You do not need to be perfect to start.

Third Quarter Moon in Leo – Towards the Light

We are nearing the end of this powerful Scorpio New Moon cycle, and this third quarter point will likely feel like a welcome outbreath. There is light at the end of the tunnel (and that is not to say that the tunnel is bad, it is necessary). We are not totally off the hook yet, but the deep shifts that have been taking place internally are feeling more natural – easier – now.

This third quarter moon in Leo (19th November, 21:10 GMT) is trine both the benefics, which should give this time a feeling of being blessed and lucky (if we have been sticking with the gratitude I mentioned at the full moon).

“… Has it never occurred to you that maybe your brother brings out the worst in people?”
“Or the best,” he said, “depending on which way you look at it.”
“You’re as bad as he is.”
“Actually, I’m much worse.”

Full Taurus Moon – Conscious Gratitude

Usually the Taurus Moon has a gloriously safe and steady energy, but with retrograde Uranus hanging in this sign for the foreseeable, things don’t feel quite as steady. This full moon is also directly opposite retrograde Mercury, fresh from his/ her journey across the face of the sun yesterday. The Earth energy is still present, it just does not feel as grounding as we expect. It is time to look at what we usually take for granted.

This Taurus Moon (November 12th, 13:35 GMT) is calling us to conscious gratitude. Times are changing, we are changing. Earth is not static. If we listen we can hear what S/He needs from us.

“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”

Divination/ Journal Prompts

*This full moon calls for an elemental check-up/in. Pull a card/ journal for each of the elements and your current relationship with them.

Ritual/ EveryDayMagic/ Spellwork Suggestion(s)

*It’s cliche almost to talk about a gratitude practice, and yet I am going to recommend it. It shifts mindsets, it opens doors. Just a simple couple of minutes a day jotting down anything, large or small, that you are grateful for. It works.
*Being outside, mindfully, consciously. Kiss the earth with your feet. Listen to the wind and the trees.
*Volunteer time, and/ or give money, to a project that helps Earth – tree planting is a great one.

First Quarter Moon in Aquarius – Paradigm Shift

If you’ve been feeling that draw to get to the bottom of something (for me, it has been getting a handle on what I really want to do/ who I want to be/ am in this world – you know, easy stuff) this will intensify as the Scorpio Moon cycle continues.

The First Quarter Moon falls in Aquarius (4th November, 10:22 GMT) square the sun in Scorpio (opposite Uranus in Taurus). A deep shift is being made, likely this shift is most visible on the community level, but it will most definitely also be occurring on a personal level. Whether you notice it is up to you.

*Read sources that you usually ignore because they are counter to your way of seeing the world
*Journal (always).

Scorpio New Moon – Beneath the Surface

We have reached the Scorpio New Moon (28th, 03:38 GMT). With the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury together in Scorpio we have a LOT of change happening, but it is likely that most of this change is happening on a subconscious level. The way that we communicate with ourselves about who we really are, how we really feel, what we really want is changing.

We can work at bringing these changes up from the depths of our (collective) unconscious, but – like everything else this month – it’s going to take some work.

I tried to think but couldn’t,

Third Quarter Moon in Cancer – Shed Your Skin

Just before we head into Scorpio season we reach the third quarter moon in Cancer (21st 13:39 BST). The theme of work and unearthing all those things which hold us back when it comes to going after what we want continues with this moon. You may well have received insight via dreams and signs, but if you haven’t then there is still time.

This phase is also about shedding. What is it that you no longer need. Is your skin too tight? Perhaps it is time to shed it, in order to grow.

“Identity was a liquid state, ever interchangeable, and adaptable to its surroundings… It was better to not have favourites – a snake didn’t mourn when it had to shed its skin.”

Full Moon in Aries – Initiation

I feel like this month’s full moon (13th, 22:07 BST)is a story of two sets of competing plot lines. On the one hand we have the Aries/ Libra axis activated, bringing our attention to where we want to move forward, and how we can best do that. And then there is the Cancer/ Capricorn axis also activated. All 4 cardinal signs. the urge to initiate is strong. But initiate what?

The answer(s) might come from dreams, or from journeying/ pathworking. This time from the full moon to the new moon in Scorpio is potent for dreamtime. Make sure you’re taking the opportunity by getting enough sleep.

First Quarter Moon in Capricorn – Work/ Work Balance

The First Quarter Moon lands in Capricorn, conjunct native Saturn (5th 5:46pm BST). I find First Quarter moons always have an aspect of challenge to them, but this one will feel that way more than most. With the moon also forming a sextile to dreamy Neptune in Pisces and trine Uranus in Taurus, there is a strong urge to do something different, to break free of the everyday, same old, same old. And that’s great, but the new thing, if it’s worth your effort, will also need work. The grass is not necessarily greener. You need to feed your current lawn too.

It’s all about finding your work/ work balance. That may be between your day job and your side hustle, or parenting and employment, or self-employment and home maintenance. You get the idea. There’s work, and there’s work. And there’s no right answer. Try and have some fun with it.
